InterSend proudly sponsors 2020 NewstrAid Christmas Carol Service

To mark the end of what had been a challenging year for everyone in the trade, NewstrAid hosted a very special Christmas event.

The coronavirus restrictions made it impossible to host the usual carol service at St Brides Church for 2020, so NewstrAid decided to create their very first virtual event which they hoped would mean even more friends and supporters would be able to kick off the festive season – and InterSend were proud sponsors.

This special event, which lasted around 35-40 minutes, included carols and Christmas music from the famous St Brides Choir along with festive readings by colleagues from the industry including Ian Hislop (Private Eye & Have I Got News for You).

Participants could view the carol service from St Brides via a direct link to the event which was available just before the broadcast date on 7th December. With a single click of this link, people could enjoy the performance via PCs, laptops, tablets or mobile phones. In addition, NewstrAid sent an event programme featuring a carol sheet so people could sing along from the comfort of their own home or office.

The event was available live and also available to rewatch from December 8th right up until Christmas Eve! This event was free, but donations could be made to NewstrAid. Hundreds of participants joined the virtual event, and many donations were made to this important cause.
